Platelets miRNA as a Prediction Marker of Thrombotic Episodes
نویسندگان
چکیده
The blood platelets are crucial for the coagulation physiology to maintain haemostatic balance and are involved in various pathologies such as atherosclerosis and thrombosis. The studies of recent years have shown that anucleated platelets are able to succeed protein synthesis. Additionally, mRNA translation in blood platelets is regulated by miRNA molecules. Recent works postulate the possibility of using miRNAs as biomarkers of atherosclerosis and ischemic episodes. This review article describes clinical studies that presented blood platelets miRNAs expression profile changes in different thrombotic states, which suggest use of these molecules as predictive biomarkers.

INFERIOR VENA CAVA THROMBOSIS IN A PATIENT WITH ESSENTIAL THROMBOCYTHEMIA
Essential thrombocythemia is a chronic myeloproliferative disorder characterized by a sustained proliferation of megakaryocytes, which leads to increased numbers of circulating platelets. Hemorrhagic and/or thrombotic episodes are frequent, and thrombosis of both veins and arteries may develop. Vessels in unusual sites may be involved, e.g., the hepatic veins, mesenteric veins, and the dig...
متن کاملO10: Thrombo-Inflammation in Acute Ischemic Stroke
Ischemic stroke has been classified as a merely thrombotic disease, so the main goal of its treatment is the recanalization of the occluded vasculature. However, despite fast restoration of blood circulation, progressive stroke still develops in many patients, which has led to the concept of reperfusion injury. The underlying mechanism is only partly known. Though, it is accepted now, tha...

متن کاملA Case Report of Successful Management of Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Syndrome (TTP) in a Pregnant Woman with Plasmapheresis
Background and Aim: Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura is a rare and life-threatening disease with a relatively high prevalence of 5% in pregnancy that causes thrombocytopenia. Due to the high prevalence and mortality of fetal and maternal mortality, which resolves rapidly with the onset of plasmapheresis, the diagnosis of this disease is clinically important. The aim of this study was to succ...
متن کاملPLATELETS AND THROMBOPOIESIS Multiscale prediction of patient-specific platelet function under flow
During thrombotic or hemostatic episodes, platelets bind collagen and release ADP and thromboxane A2, recruiting additional platelets to a growing deposit that distorts the flow field. Prediction of clotting function under hemodynamic conditions for a patient’s platelet phenotype remains a challenge. A platelet signaling phenotype was obtained for 3 healthy donors using pairwise agonist scannin...
